4。5/5 stars。I received an advance review copy from the author for free， and I am leaving this review voluntarily。There was really one thing that made me not give this a full 5 star。 The 10/15% I wasn’t digging Amara’s vibe so it was a bit hard for me to really concentrate on the story， on the plus side everything involving Nikolai I was interested in。To me Amara came across as meek and too innocent at the beginning which is not at all the authors fault， it’s just my preference nowadays to have a 4。5/5 stars。I received an advance review copy from the author for free， and I am leaving this review voluntarily。There was really one thing that made me not give this a full 5 star。 The 10/15% I wasn’t digging Amara’s vibe so it was a bit hard for me to really concentrate on the story， on the plus side everything involving Nikolai I was interested in。To me Amara came across as meek and too innocent at the beginning which is not at all the authors fault， it’s just my preference nowadays to have a stronger heroine but Amara had a fire right from the beginning that I just missed and we see that fire later on。I loved how she didn’t shamed or feared Nikolai regardless of what he did despite her having reasons to do so especially since her father is a horrible person and only gave her reasons to hate mafia men。I loved how no matter what Nikolai did to her she was always on board with his ideas and I just loved their relationship as a whole。Nikolai has this underlying darkness， this fire and aggressiveness that I’m fond of。 His whole personality and even the way he talks I found it to be really great。I especially loved how from the moment he met Amara he had this protectiveness of her like I haven’t see in awhile and I appreciated it。 His whole demeanor towards her was swoony from the beginning to the end。Their nuptials was not traditional in any way， shape or form and I loved it。 Did it frustrate me？ A bit but I still got some hot and heavy scenes from it so obviously I can’t complain and I throughly enjoyed it。Every other time was simply 🔥， their kinks were so well aligned and I loved how everything was described。 Jenika did a great job with it。Now did that whole scene in Amara’s father home made me happy but also scared？ Yes， it did。I was cheering for Amara when she finally stand up for herself to her father but surprisingly to defend her husband。 Atta girl！Right from the beginning I was hoping Nikolai would do something about her father but I’m also glad he didn’t have to do much。That whole scene shocked me with some revelations which made me hate her father even more and I’m glad he’s not bothering anyone anymore。 I’m glad Amara and Nikolai are got their hea and I’m hoping to see them in Ruin’s book。 。。。more

I hadn’t read any of Jenika Snows mafia books yet and then I saw this and knew I wanted to read it。It did not disappoint！ Age gap， alpha male， arrange marriage and dirty smut。 It’s fast pace and just keeps the pages turning。If you are a fan of her Lycan series then you will more than likely enjoy this one as well。I did read Cold Hearted Bastard before this but you don’t have too。I received this book as an ARC for an honest review 🙂
